🚀 Your role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to help us shape the data team establishing the bases for the governance, analysis, modeling and consumption of our data sources.

Our data is so f****g fun — there's so much to play with. If you like the idea of applying your skills to the richest, fastest-expanding, live dataset of the tech recruiting market in Latin America, the only one that looks at both sides of the table, you will have a blast.

You will:

  1. Create complex SQL data queries that allows teams to answer inquiries, segment information, create cohorts and obtain metrics
  2. Build or automate dashboards fed by our multiple data sources
  3. Work side by side with the dev team to define ways to index and consolidate our different sources of information
  4. Engineer the architecture and piping of data integrating and connecting all the sources to create multi-dimensional views of our data
  5. Analyze and optimize SQL queries
  6. Help establishing the bases to always remain GDPR compliant and take care of our users' privacy

💻 Your skills

We care about expertise, not just experience. We never stop learning —and you will learn a lot with us— but we do expect that you excel in:

  1. Mastery of PostgreSQL. You will write queries in Heroku Dataclips, or embedded in the codebase
  2. Data visualization skills, and more broadly being an ambassador for data fluency. We don't care much about the tools, but you had visualized data before so you know when you use one chart or another
  3. Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies for data warehousing and data processing (like Glue, Athena, Lake formation)
  4. Writing and reading in Spanish and English. We are a remote team, which demands being great at communicating ideas or document processes
  5. Some knowledge of a general-purpose programming language

You also have a very analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.

💯 Bonus points

  1. Have worked remotely before. It sounds easy but working without people around for hours and with all the distractions of the internet is challenging and takes skills
  2. You are skilled in one or more general-purpose programming languages. Working at Get on Board means you will have to code at least in Ruby
  3. You consider yourself a "Journalist of data", discovering hidden gems that can be turned into insights
  4. Experience with machine learning/statistics and predictive and descriptive modeling
