Talently (500 Startups W19) is an online program for tech professionals in Latam that helps them hack their way to their next remote job by developing their career, tech and English skills. We do so aligning incentives: participants only pay the program’s full fee once they succeed in getting hired.

Job functions

As our Head of Marketing, your primary challenge will be to bring about a 10x increase in the total new students within the next twelve months.

This challenge has three main parts:

  • You will take full ownership of our online presence, leading the creation and production of compelling, relevant content that engages, educates, and serves our customers throughout their lifecycle and are the catalyst for growth and elevates our brand.
  • You will lead the creation and deployment of integrated digital marketing initiatives, including (but not limited to) Facebook Ads, SEO, automation marketing, referral programs, inbound marketing, and others.
  • We will be growing our Marketing team to serve the Latam region. You will need to take our current rising marketing team and scale it to dozens, restructuring the team as needed as it grows across functions and regions.

Responsabilities

  • Design and implement Talently’s marketing strategy in conjunction with the overall product and company strategy.
  • Participate as a part of Talently’s management team, contribute to product roadmap decisions, and add value to the strategic guidance of the company.
  • Develop and optimize our main acquisition channel: Paid Marketing.
  • Optimize the Talently's sales funnel through our own channels: mailing, in-app Admissions platform and others.
  • Develop and implement an inbound marketing strategy and work closely with a SEO agency.
  • Work closely with the Product and Design teams in testing and implementing Product-Led Growth strategies.
  • Lead and expand the Marketing team to a headcount of 10 in the coming 12 months.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions and Placement teams to optimize our unit economics.

Qualifications and requirements

  • 2+ years of experience leading a Marketing Team (ideally in startups)
  • 3+ years of experience in Performance Marketing (Paid Channels, specially Facebook Ads)
  • Strong understanding of and the ability to lead integrated digital marketing strategies and campaigns from concept to execution, including website design and optimization, analytics and A/B testing, content marketing, SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media marketing, and lead management. (A plus:
  • Strong data analysis skills and in-depth knowledge of analytics packages like Google Analytics and SEO software. The faster we can figure out what works, the sooner we iterate and invest.
  • Strong content creation background —you’re comfortable turning abstract concepts into cohesive articles— and a keen sense of what types of messages, stories, conversations, and engagement models makes sense with different audiences, roles, and levels.
  • Good understanding of strategy, business model and B2C sales.

Desirable skills

  • Relevant experience leading Marketing Teams in Edtech/HR tech startups
  • Experience in full implementation of Marketing Automation software with Active Campaign
