Mission

To acquire, store, process, analyze and provide availability for large-volume and high-quality datasets, in order to contribute to the development of knowledge, science, technology, and innovation, thanks to data science and artificial intelligence, in fields such as astronomy, climate change, seismic activity, availability of hydric resources, and other activities or sources that are relevant for the country.

In particular, Data Observatory seeks to:

• Promote free access to data that will allow the different actors of society to generate capabilities in training artificial intelligence algorithms (machine learning), data intelligence (data analytics), and educational capacity for the professional preparation of talent in this area.


• Encourage a sustainable development model for the country using open data, making it possible for these data to generate value through research and innovation, and democratizing data accessibility, connecting them to several communities and adding value for high-impact sectors.


• Form alliances or sign agreements or contracts with other foundations, educational, governmental, and non-governmental entities, scientific societies, natural persons, or any other public or private entity, for the development of projects or endeavors related to data analysis of any nature or industry.
