About Blazestack
Blazestack is a forward-thinking technology company delivering mission-critical software for public safety and related domains. We combine cutting-edge cloud-native infrastructure with AI-driven UI capabilities to create solutions that are used by frontline professionals. As a remote-first organization, we emphasize speed, ownership, experimentation, and collaboration across distributed teams. Our work touches real-world needs—systems that are reliable, accessible, and designed to empower users in high-stakes environments.

Join a dedicated, fast-moving team that values thoughtful design, rigorous validation, and practical implementation. You’ll contribute to a SaaS platform used by investigators and public safety professionals, shaping experiences that simplify complex workflows and improve outcomes in real time.

Opportunity published on Get on Board.

What You’ll Do

  • Create and translate flow diagrams, user stories, and feature descriptions into interactive wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes that can be tested with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to refine concepts and align on practical, user-centered solutions.
  • Maintain and evolve our design system to ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across the product.
  • Conduct rapid usability testing, collect qualitative and quantitative feedback, and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Present design rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, documenting decisions and rationale.
  • Ensure accessibility and usability standards are met across all components and interactions.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a product designer who can turn abstract requirements into tangible, delightful experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for interaction design, a proven track record designing SaaS products, and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You should be able to translate customer needs into intuitive interfaces and responsive designs that scale from concept to production.

Required: 3+ years of product or UX/UI design experience (SaaS preferred), proficiency in Figma (or similar tooling), a compelling portfolio with clickable prototypes and user flows, ability to translate complex requirements into simple experiences, solid understanding of responsive design, and excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to Have: Experience in GovTech or compliance-driven software, user research experience, familiarity with front-end concepts (e.g., React, CSS frameworks) to understand constraints, and experience contributing to or managing design systems.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience designing for government or regulated environments, conducting usability studies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including researchers and engineers. Comfort with fast iteration cycles and a bias toward practical, accessible, and scalable design solutions. Knowledge of front-end constraints and the ability to discuss feasibility with developers is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to design a mission-critical SaaS product that directly serves public safety and investigation professionals.
  • A collaborative, cross-functional environment where design is valued from idea to implementation.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work culture focused on outcomes and results.
