OCMI Workers Comp is building a scalable, customer-facing multi-tenant SaaS platform focused on delivering streamlined workers’ compensation management through Pay-As-You-Go PEO programs. In this role, you will contribute to a fast-growing startup environment, collaborating across product, design, and engineering to ship robust, secure, and high-performance software. You’ll help design and implement end-to-end solutions that support a diverse client base while maintaining strong data security and observability. You will work within an agile team to drive platform reliability, performance, and user-centric experiences that directly impact business outcomes and user satisfaction. This role resides in a dynamic, innovate-first department dedicated to delivering value to customers through modern web technologies and scalable architectures.

What you’ll do

• Implement scalable, maintainable full-stack solutions following established system designs and architectural patterns.

• Build reactive applications with event-driven workflows based on technical specifications.

• Develop and maintain multi-tenant SaaS platforms with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.

• Apply advanced design patterns and architectural principles to solve complex technical challenges.

• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests following TDD/BDD practices.

• Collaborate with development teams using Agile methodologies and project management tools.

• Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.

• Create and maintain technical documentation for implemented features and code changes.

• Understand and work within existing system architectures and technical specifications.

Required qualifications

We are seeking a seasoned Full Stack Engineer with a strong track record of delivering customer-facing, multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

Technical Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js ecosystem.

  • Deep ability to interpret system design specifications and architectural patterns.
  • Expert-level knowledge of design patterns (Observer, Factory, Strategy, Repository, etc.) with real-world implementation experience.
  • Advanced TypeScript proficiency including conditional types, type inference, generics, branded types, and utility types.
  • Hands-on experience with modern frameworks/tools: Next.js, React, Hono, Zod, Prisma/Drizzle, Nx.
  • Comprehensive testing across unit, integration, and E2E with Jest, Vitest, Playwright, Cypress.
  • Strong understanding of reactive programming and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with abstraction layers, API design, and building extensible systems.

Professional Experience:

  • Proven track record in Agile environments with tools like JIRA, Linear, or ZenHub.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and navigation of complex codebases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
  • Ability to read and comprehend existing codebases quickly.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.
  • Growth mindset with a drive to improve skills and adopt new technologies.
