Choppi Developments is an innovative startup aiming to reinvent the delivery market in Venezuela with an online marketplace focused on supermarket products. Since May 2023, we have been building a robust platform designed to offer seamless grocery shopping experiences for users throughout Venezuela. What you'll do:

Lead the Backend: Take full ownership of our backend architecture and development, ensuring stability, scalability, and optimal performance of our platform.
Integrations: Manage and develop crucial integrations with supermarket partners to onboard their product catalogs, as well as work with banking systems to implement payment solutions within our applications.
Maintenance & Enhancement: Continuously maintain and improve the backend codebase, focusing on robustness, efficiency, and scalability.
New Feature Development: Design and implement new features and functionalities to drive innovation and user engagement post-launch.
Best Practices: Champion coding best practices, including code quality assurance, comprehensive testing, and development methodologies across the backend team.

What we're looking for (your expertise):

We seek a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with deep hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge of our current technology stack. You should be passionate about building scalable backend systems and improving development processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in:

AWS: Extensive experience using various AWS services such as S3, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, EventBridge, and SES. Familiarity with other cloud tools is a significant advantage.
NestJS: Strong proficiency in developing scalable and efficient backend applications using NestJS.
PostgreSQL: Expert-level skills in database design, optimization, and management with PostgreSQL.
TypeScript: Solid practical experience writing robust and maintainable code in TypeScript.
Twilio: Experience integrating Twilio services for SMS and WhatsApp messaging functionalities.
Firebase: Familiarity with Firebase services and their application in backend systems.
GitHub: Proficient with Git and GitHub as tools for version control and collaborative software development.

We appreciate candidates who are self-starters, adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment, with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.

Bonus Points (Future Technologies):

Experience or strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) is highly valued. We plan to incorporate AI/ML concepts into our backend systems to enhance platform capabilities in the near future. Candidates familiar with AI/ML applications and backend integration will stand out.
