Job Details:

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and technically curious Data Engineer to become part of our core team. This is a foundational role for someone with 2+ years of experience who wants to go beyond just writing code—someone who’s excited to take ownership, work directly with clients, and help small businesses grow using data, automation, and smart systems. You’ll play a hands-on role in building data pipelines, automation workflows, dashboards, and client deliverables. Because we are a small and nimble team, you will also participate in client meetings, contribute to workshops, and take ownership of delivering insightful, high-quality work that creates real business value.

Responsibilities:

The role will evolve as your experience grows, but initially your time will likely break down across the following 4 areas:

1. Data Engineering and Automation (60%)

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines using tools like Google Apps Script, Coupler.io, Zapier, and other low/no-code tools.
  • Clean and transform raw data from systems like QuickBooks, HubSpot, and ActiveCampaign into structured, usable formats.
  • Maintain and improve our internal Google Sheets-based data warehouse and reporting dashboards.
  • Automate repetitive workflows and monitor data reliability.
  • Work across the Google technology stack (Sheets, Apps Script, BigQuery, etc.), with exposure to the Microsoft stack (Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, etc.), and a future roadmap involving Supabase and SQL.
  • Use Asana (or a similar project management tool) to manage scope, tasks, and requirements—and maintain clear, self-managed progress updates.

2. Client Delivery and Communication (25%)

  • Attend and sometimes lead client meetings and working sessions.
  • Present dashboards, explain workflows, and gather feedback directly from clients.
  • Communicate findings clearly and help translate business needs into data solutions.
  • Take ownership of key deliverables and contribute meaningfully to client success.

3. Documentation and Data Ops (10%)

  • Document data models, business logic, and pipeline workflows.
  • Create and maintain SOPs and data dictionaries.
  • Help build scalable internal systems and templates for reuse.

4. Internal Projects and Tooling (5%)

  • Support our internal reporting, project tracking, and automation initiatives.
  • Identify and propose improvements to our data and operational infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional or internship experience in data, engineering, or operations.
  • 1+ year of experience leveraging LLMs via integrated coding tools, Python, and SQL.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and basic scripting (e.g., Apps Script or Python).
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent task and time management—you will be expected to own and organize your work independently using task tracking tools.
  • A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and drive to solve real business problems.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment where priorities shift.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with APIs and REST integrations.
  • Experience with tools like Coupler.io, Zapier, Make.com, or Retool.
  • Experience with the Google Workspace or Microsoft Teams technical stack.
  • Consulting or small business exposure.
  • Interest or experience in SQL, Supabase, or dashboarding tools like Power BI.

Benefits:

  • A fully remote position with a structured schedule that supports work-life balance.
  • The opportunity to help small businesses scale through data, automation, and smart systems.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation per year.
  • 10 paid days for local holidays.

*Please note we are only looking for full-time dedicated team members who are eager to fully integrate within our team.
