M2M DataGlobal is a fast-growing Chilean tech company providing IoT connectivity across Latin America. Backed by OptConnect, M2M has the speed of a startup with the support of a global leader, with headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah and offices throughout Europe.

You’ll be part of a hands-on international team, sharing knowledge with engineers in Chile and the U.S. The Santiago team works in a hybrid setup—some days at home to focus, other days together in a new Providencia office (10 minutes from Metro Tobalaba).

This isn’t just another job. As a senior engineer, you’ll be expected to learn fast, then step up to own and scale our AWS cloud infrastructure. You’ll sharpen our CI/CD pipelines, boost observability, and build tools that make developers’ lives easier.

Our stack: AWS, Kubernetes, AWS CDK (TypeScript), GitHub Actions, and modern observability tools.

Apply only from getonbrd.com.

Key Responsibilities

  • AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Design, engineer, and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and related IaC tools. Take ownership of core AWS services including EKS (Kubernetes), VPC, Route 53, Security Groups, IAM, EC2, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail. Ensure all infrastructure decisions prioritize security, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • CI/CD & Build Systems: Own and continuously improve the velocity and reliability of developer deployments by designing, maintaining, and evolving GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines. Automate builds, tests, packaging, and deployments to eliminate manual steps, manage GitHub organizations and container registries such as Amazon ECR, and enhance release engineering practices.
  • Observability & Operational Readiness: Maintain and expand a developer-friendly observability stack using OpenTelemetry, ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana. Develop dashboards, logging standards, and alerting mechanisms that enable engineers to quickly analyze performance and troubleshoot. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and prevent incidents.
  • Database & State Management: Architect and implement scalable and resilient databases including MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch. Automate backup, recovery, monitoring, failover, and enforce security best practices to guarantee availability, durability, and performance with minimal operational overhead.
  • Learn: Grow fast with a Team Lead who speaks Spanish, knows our systems deeply, and will mentor you as you put your skills to work.
  • Own: Take charge of our AWS infrastructure—driving CI/CD, observability, and developer experience. Meeting the bar is required; raising it is success.
  • Lead: Share knowledge, shape best practices, and influence how our engineering teams build and deliver at scale.

Required Skills and Experience

We are seeking a senior DevOps engineer with a minimum of three years’ experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native infrastructure at scale, especially in high-availability environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in creating, operating, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in AWS (EKS), along with strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (preferably AWS CDK) and managing distributed, production-grade systems.

You should bring strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally with AWS CDK, and be comfortable running distributed systems in production. Hands-on experience with automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK), and containerized workloads is essential.

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, HTTP protocols, and diagnostic tooling for rapid incident response is required. You’ll also be expected to apply cloud security best practices across Kubernetes and AWS: non-root containers, network policies, PodSecurity, secure IaC, artifact signing, IAM least privilege, MFA/SSO, vulnerability scanning, and hardened CI/CD workflows.

Excellent English communication skills are necessary to clearly explain complex technical concepts and collaborate across teams in Chile, the United States, and Europe. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment while showing rigorous attention to prioritization and delivery quality.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with Serverless Framework or other AWS deployment automation tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC peering and Transit Gateway configuration.
  • Familiarity with additional container orchestration platforms beyond Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go or Python for infrastructure automation.
  • Prior experience working remotely across multiple time zones and collaborating with globally distributed teams.
  • A passion for continuous improvement in developer experience and operational excellence.

Benefits

At M2M DataGlobal, we believe that behind every engineer is a person with dreams, values, and a life that deserves balance. A great culture comes first: flexibility, respect, diversity, and well-being are our foundation.

Our culture encourages autonomy, continuous learning, and technical ownership in a supportive, fast-paced setting.

  • Half day off on your birthday
  • Additional days off for personal errands and important moments
  • Health and wellness benefits including Betterfly, VIDA CÁMARA, and Caja Los Andes
  • Real flexibility to balance your personal and professional life
  • A collaborative team where attitude and desire to grow matter most

Here, we don't just build technological solutions. We build human connections with purpose, integrity, and commitment.
