Job functions

  • Assist with implementation of the strategy, roadmap and delivery plans for Network Security in coordination with the Network Architecture and Engineering functions
  • Maintain network security devices and technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), certificate management, network segmentation
  • Track metrics for the effectiveness and maturity of network security operations
  • Support digitization efforts to automate routine playbooks
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical skills, technical knowledge, and practical application of cyber and information security principles to business leaders and technical staff.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with business and OT partners. Communicate status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement firewall configuration security optimization
  • Palo Alto & Cisco are standard. But other firewalls are also supported
  • Assess and remediate firewall security policy findings

Qualifications and requirements

  • Hands-on experience networking security technologies (Firewalls, VPNs, Routing, TCP/IP, Packet trace and log analysis)
  • Knowledge and experience in application security standards, methodologies, and technologies
  • Solid capability to assess application and web architectures and operating systems for vulnerabilities and develop appropriate security countermeasures
  • Solid knowledge and experience with IT security aspects of operating systems, Active Directory, database (SQL) access, LDAP, Microsoft SharePoint, and web server configurations.
  • Experience in assessing, configuring, and testing security applications and systems, such as firewalls, security appliances, IDS/IPS, SSL or TLS, IPSec, and web services security.
  • Knowledge of networking and security tools such as Palo Alto, Citrix, Cisco
  • Understanding of various industry standards including HIPPA, ZeroTrust and NIST standard
  • Able to use technical engineering and process management skills
  • Knowledge of multiple UNIX OS platforms and Windows-based operating system
  • Knowledge in security operations, cyber security monitoring, and secured networks
  • Extensive experience with network security systems such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, FireEye
  • Ability to review and remediate firewall security policy findings (rule priority, shadow rules, redundant rules, overly permissive rules, unused objects, time-based rules (inactive))

Desirable skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience developing technical white papers, reports, and documentation of technical work
  • Have good customer/people skills to interface with customer IT leadership, IT users and with the Fortius Perimeter team lead
  • Report to the Fortius Perimeter team lead (firewall, network, remote access)
  • Work with the Fortius Perimeter tower team lead to plan and coordinate the workload tasks for each client organization, including task/work break down structure, start date for each client engagement, and finish date for each client engagement
  • Manage the associated offshore team resources in the perimeter technical area, including workload balancing the tasks across the client organizations
