Threat Intelligence Engineer in ZeroFox

Within this role as a Threat Intelligence Engineer, you will join ZeroFox’s Dark Ops Research & Innovation (DORI) team: a small group of skilled researchers, engineers and intelligence specialists who dedicate themselves to protecting customers by conceptualizing and developing new and novel methods of tracking and disrupting social and digital-based threats under the “Dark Ops'' umbrella. If a solution to a problem doesn’t exist, you will help to make one! You will be responsible for helping to develop many of the projects and solutions conceptualized by the team, and make it “prod ready” to feed into the core product. You will work directly with the Lead of DORI to operationalize and scale research and proof of concept code for outward and inward facing customers, as well as create tools to streamline processes. You will make an impact.

Role and responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering new and novel methods of tracking, monitoring and disrupting threat actors and their activities
  • Aid in the research and development of tools and applications across their entire lifecycle, from drawing board to integration with core product
  • Work with other teams at ZeroFox to identify and improve internal processes and tooling
  • Identify and curate data and indicators required to power in-product threat protections
  • Maintain and identify improvements to applications within the Dark Ops ecosystem.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Track history of working autonomously within an engineering or development role
  • Proficiency in using at least 2 programming languages from; Python, Javascript, Go, PHP
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge (or ideally hands-on experience) with AWS and “infrastructure-as-code”

Desirable skills

  • Proficiency with Hashicorp stack (terraform, vault, consul)
  • Good technical writing and communication
  • Proven track-record of managing and executing projects
  • Track record of building tools for internal and external use, open source contributions are a plus
  • Adaptability, and desire to learn new programming languages and technologies
