Key Responsibilities

  • Own the transformation layer: Develop and maintain robust data models, SQL pipelines, and semantic layers that standardize metrics and definitions across multiple teams and departments, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
  • Model for reliability and scale: Architect data solutions that balance high performance, ease of maintenance, and evolving business requirements to deliver scalable analytics infrastructure.
  • Enable self-serve analytics: Collaborate closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to design datasets and data products that empower teams to independently generate insightful reports and analyses without requiring engineering support.
  • Document and educate: Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for data models, pipelines, and metrics. Lead training sessions and workshops to promote data literacy and adoption of analytics tools across the organization.
  • Improve data quality: Design and implement automated tests, data monitors, and workflows to continuously ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data, reducing downtime and manual interventions.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Analytics Engineer with more than five years of experience in analytics engineering, data modeling, or data warehousing. The ideal candidate has strong capabilities with SQL, preferably Postgres, and is proficient in Python (or Scala/R) to develop efficient and scalable data pipelines.
Experience working with modern data stack tools like Snowflake, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Looker, or Tableau is essential. Familiarity with software engineering best practices—including version control, testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD)—is required to produce high-quality data infrastructure.
The candidate must have the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and scalable data models. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are critical for partnering effectively with stakeholders from various departments.
Soft skills including attention to detail, systems thinking, and a passion for improving data accessibility and integrity are vital. As the first Analytics Engineer in our team, you will also be responsible for defining best practices and guiding the analytics engineering discipline within the company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting business intelligence (BI), product analytics, or financial reporting at scale.
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modeling techniques such as star and snowflake schemas.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations, data governance frameworks, and security principles to ensure compliance and safe data handling practices.

What Success Looks Like

  • Teams have trust and confidence in the accuracy and accessibility of data to drive better decision-making.
  • Metric definitions are consistent, well-documented, and widely adopted across the organization.
  • Data infrastructure experiences reduced downtime and manual fixes due to robust testing and well-designed models.
  • Up-to-date, concise data documentation exists and is actively used as a reference by all data consumers.
At Juristat, we foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.
