Job functions

Why This Role Matters

Data is at the core of Similarweb. As an Big Data Engineer, you’ll design and implement high-scale systems to retrieve and analyze internet data, directly influencing our data infrastructure and client insights.

Your Responsibilities

Scraping: Build and maintain large-scale web-scraping operations.
Processing: Develop complex data pipelines to process and enrich raw data.
Engineering: Design and build robust, large-scale systems to support data infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Write complex PySpark applications for data processing.
Develop high-performance, dockerized microservices.
Collaborate with talented engineers and learn new technologies.
Implement solutions within AWS cloud.
Monitor and debug data pipelines and services.

Qualifications and requirements

About You

Be aligned with our culture of humility, ingenuity, self-management, collaboration, and a positive mental attitude
3+ years in server-side software development (e.g. C#, Java, Python).
Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Airflow).
Familiar with cloud environments (e.g. AWS, GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.

Desirable skills

Knowledge of web scraping technologies and internet internals? A plus!
Eager to learn, take on challenges, and work in a team.
