Job functions

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our product, sales, leadership and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of data and its results using statistical techniques to provide ongoing reports.
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance.
  • Work along with other areas such as commercial, technology and projects, technical operations, business and senior management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Create custom statistical or machine learning models to improve internal or external KPIs from our customers.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and/or patterns in complex and large data sets ranging from a few thousands to hundreds of millions of records.
  • Create presentations to share analysis findings with internal areas or external areas from our customers.
  • Document analysis and modeling processes, providing sufficient descriptive information about the data used, models and techniques minding these documents are intended for own use as well as colleagues and other people within the organization.
  • Be a self-learner individual but also willing to ask the right questions when needed.
  • Develop daily activities being a part of an agile, collaborative, team-oriented environment

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or Information Management.
  • At least 2 years of proven working experience as a Data Scientist or a data related role.
  • Advanced english level is a must.
  • Deep knowledge of Python programming language for data analysis. R or Julia is an asset.
  • Proficiency in statistical and/or machine learning models for tasks like classification, regression and time series forecasting.
  • Proven experience in using query languages such as SQL, Hive or Pig.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining and segmentation techniques.

Desirable skills

Experience in the financial sector is a plus
