Key Responsibilities
Payroll Excellence (70%)
Ensure 100% payroll accuracy and timeliness across all employees and contractors
Master complex multi-jurisdiction compliance and worker classifications
Proactively collect documentation (I-9s, invoices, tax forms) with executive-level professionalism
Navigate multi-platform ecosystems including Rippling, Wrapbook, PayPal, and Ramp
Resolve payroll discrepancies immediately using analytical precision
Maintain bulletproof audit trails and compliance records
Accounts Payable Support (30%)
Own vendor payment accuracy and timing
Drive accounts payable process optimization and support month-end close
Manage vendor relationships with professional excellence
Requirements
Core Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA track preferred)
4-6 years of progressive payroll experience with proven mastery
Expertise in California multi-state compliance (essential)
Advanced knowledge of contractor versus employee classification
Technical Excellence
Expert proficiency in enterprise payroll systems such as Rippling, Wrapbook, ADP
Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
Professional Standards
Exceptional communication skills for professional documentation collection
Zero tolerance for payroll errors
Proactive problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to perform accurately under high-pressure conditions
Availability for 6+ hour overlap with Los Angeles time zone (7 AM - 7 PM PST)
Enterprise-grade internet connection, backup power, and dedicated professional workspace required
Flawless English communication skills
