We are Presence Health, Inc., a Silicon Valley startup building Grow—a next-generation baby monitor app. Grow runs on React Native and pairs with our own camera hardware to deliver reliable, secure, and low-latency video streaming. The product leverages Amazon Kinesis Video Streams (WebRTC) to enable real-time connectivity for parents and caregivers, while also supporting features like sleep tracking, journaling, and shared caregiving. This role contributes to shaping Grow’s mobile experience across iOS and Android, operating at the intersection of mobile apps, real-time video streaming, and smart hardware.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the React Native mobile app (iOS and Android).
Implement and optimize real-time video streaming using WebRTC and Amazon Kinesis Video Streams.
Collaborate with backend engineers on Java + Postgres services, APIs, and device management.
Work closely with hardware teams on integration, onboarding flows, and firmware updates for our camera.
Ensure smooth cross-platform performance, stability, and scalability.
Contribute to product direction in a small, agile team.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of React Native and cross-platform mobile app development.

• Hands-on experience with WebRTC, ideally including Amazon Kinesis Video Streams.

• Familiarity with debugging, performance optimization, and crash resolution on iOS/Android.

• Experience building apps that integrate with hardware devices (IoT, cameras, wearables, etc.).

• Comfort working with or alongside Java/Postgres back-end services.

• Self-starter who thrives in a startup environment with shifting priorities.

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-latency networking, streaming optimization, or buffering strategies.
• Background in consumer hardware, smart home, or health tech.
• Familiarity with firmware update workflows and device provisioning.
• A parent who understands how hard it is too bring up a child!
