medl connects doctors and patients with our pharmacy to deliver medication to your door. We are growing fast and working on an hourly contract basis with product developers to support this growth. We are seeking to add ambitious developers that have experience in multi-tenant-aware platforms and who are seeking highly flexible remote working opportunities and the ability to work with a large amount of scope and autonomy.

This position will work with our software development team as well as internal software users. The position will also work with external software providers and IT teams to develop APIs that integrate medl’s existing software with 3rd parties. This position will not interact with customers directly, but will work on customer facing software.

The requirements and responsibilities of this position include:

• Knowledge of Kotlin for Native Android
• Knowledge of Html, CSS, Javascript and modern tools and platforms for client side code.
• Use of Analytics, instrumentation, performance monitoring.
• Ability to run Testing(automated & manual, unit & integration).
• Management of QA, release and deployment.

The position will be working on the following projects that have been scoped and are at various stages of completion. We are looking for developers who can support new features including, but not limited to:

1. Completion of a Shopify integration for an over-the-counter medication storefront in the existing medl native (Android) application.

2. Working with the backend team on building a RESTful API that integrates our platform with health insurers. The Android native developer will be responsible for managing the customer facing in-app features (UI/UX) related to this integration.

3. Enabling logic allowing us to flag and alter the prices of specific medication. The Android native developer will be responsible for managing the customer facing in-app features (UI/UX) related to this feature.

These are just a few of the immediate features.

Performance will be judged on completing the defined project scope within the estimated time. This contractor will report to the co-founders, as well as to our lead software consultant.

• Min. 2 years web and native mobile application development using modern software engineering languages, patterns, practices, and frameworks.
• Able to demonstrate proficiency in coding by sharing and demonstrating code or previous projects.
• Proficiency in mobile development. Must have knowledge of html, CSS and Javascript. In particular, Kotlin for front-end Android applications.
• Proficiency in REST and MVC. Knowledge of Express MVC.
• Knowledge of source control using GitLab.
• Knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration/Deployment
• Work well in a team with limited supervision.
