Job functions

  • Facilitate sprint planning, stand ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Ensures work is appropriately balanced across team members and that all work is captured within the backlog.
  • Reviews and manages backlog items to ensure it’s being groomed and prioritized.
  • Applies innovative and creative thinking to solve problems and get things done.
  • Brings a data-driven approach to decision making, both in day-to-day management and in making strategic trade-offs.
  • Maintains and updates process metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and transparent communications to Product Owner and key stakeholders.
  • Creates burn-down charts to measure team output over time.
  • Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and best practices to progress the team.
  • Observes and engages with individual team members to identify opportunities to improve Agile performance.
  • Influences across the team to drive results.
  • Provides constructive feedback to team members to help drive Agile maturity.
  • Models’ behaviors to support the organization’s transformation to a new way of working.
  • Actively creates and maintains the culture within the team based on the organization and Agile leadership behaviors.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience as a Scrum Master OR Project Management Professional
  • 3+ years scrum master and/or project management experience
  • Experience working with or in Agile teams and understanding of Agile practices
  • Ability to brainstorm with team members on solutions to address challenges and roadblocks
  • A continuous improvement mind-set and dedication to finding new ways of working
  • Ability to influence behavior without having formal organizational hierarchy
  • Excellent communications and people-interaction skills; ability to build collaborative network connections
  • Commitment to organization’s new way of working through greater collaboration and breaking down of siloes.
  • Demonstrate and educate as a deep subject matter expert (SME) in scrum process and tools
  • Experience communicating effectively with high levels of management
  • Strong experience with JIRA as the primary tool for agile development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (mandatory)
