Non-growth engineers might not be comfortable with the pace of play that comes with growth engineering at times. Growth engineers often need to “hack” together short-term solutions quickly to understand whether an idea is worth a bigger, long-term investment.

The Role 🔎
We're looking to hire our first-ever Growth Engineer to help take Gain to the next level! Working as part of the growth team, you'll be focussing on using data and experimentation to improve part of our product flow.

Think of it like this: while our Product Teams are working on increasing the core benefit of our product, the Growth Teams are working to make sure as many people as possible experience the core benefit!

Your Responsibilities 🖥
As a Growth Engineer, you'll be working with the Growth team to develop and maintain Gain's main website and other online properties. You will:

• Work with the Head of Growth to create new areas of the site and extend or redesign existing ones
• Implement and configure campaign-related web technology such as tags, tracking pixels, and analytics in our web properties
• Participate in architectural decision-making for these implementations
• Collaborate with other front and back-end developers, designers, and the rest of the team to deliver well-architected and high-quality solutions
• Fix bugs and performance problems
• Write clean, readable, and testable code
• Optimizing a particular area of the Gain offering - this could be activation, retention, expansion, or referrals
• Devising and executing experiments and iterating on our product offering to improve our metrics Collaborate with tech, product, and marketing teams on overall strategy
• Shipping improvements weekly, if not daily, which are used immediately by our users to make their apps work better and do more Requirements

• Experience working with HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  • ES6-specific Features
  • Responsive web design and best practices
  • CSS and Preprocessors such as Sass or Less
  • BEM or similar methodologies
  • Flexbox or CSS Grid
• Experience with modern content management systems
  • Knowledge of headless CMSs such as Contentful, Sanity, etc.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as Gatsby, Next.js, etc. to build websites with headless CMS data
  • Experience with traditional CMSs such as Webflow, Squarespace, Wordpress
• Experience with analytic software and methodology such as R and Python (libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn, and SciPy), as well as data visualization experience (e.g., Mixpanel)
• Experience with Customer data platforms (CDP), like Segment.
• Experience implementing new flows and setting up A/B testing
• Experience with web tracking tools
  • Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Google Tag Manager
  • UTM tags, tracking pixels, etc.
• Experience working with popular web development tools:
  • NPM, Gulp, Webpack
  • Version control with Git & Github
• Experience developing marketing websites following design directions
  • Good knowledge of basic design principles
  • Experience working with design tools like Sketch or Figma
  • Attention to detail
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Excellent communication and people skills to thrive in a dynamic and diverse remote team.

• Experience working in a growth team or growth engineering role
• Python or JavaScript skills Experience with data pipelines, warehousing, and reporting systems
