Java Developer in Protiviti

We are seeking an outstanding Principal Java Software Developer to join our firm. You will work as part of a team to design and develop high-quality APIs and software services.
As a Java developer, you will implement new features in microservices and maintain existing code using Java and other standard libraries and tools in the Java ecosystem, such as Spring, Hibernate, and Docker. Your duties will include designing software solutions to meet project requirements, maintaining and refactoring existing code, writing tests, and fixing bugs.

• Maintain existing Java software, including testing and fixing bugs
• Design and develop new Java software microservices to meet project requirements
• Maintain and update project dependencies as well as fix any conflicts
• Working with other Java developers and software engineers to develop front-end and back-end architecture that’s well-structured and flexible, along with the APIs to support it

• Five or more years of focused experience as a Java developer.
• Java 11 experience is required with Java 17 preferred.
• Spring 4.x or later and Spring Boot 2.x or later experience
• SQL RDBMS experience is required with MySQL preferred
• Hibernate experience
• Spring-data-JPA experience
• MapStruct and Lombok experience is required
• Maven 3.8 experience
• Unit testing with Junit 5
• Docker and Docker compose experience
• Extensive experience working in an agile process and a dynamic environment: managing time, managing change, demonstrating work to stakeholders, collaborating with peers, participating in design and quality reviews
• Demonstrated energy, collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking skills along with an ownership mindset is required in this fast-paced environment
• Passion for code quality, best practices, and outstanding delivery is required

• OpenAPI 3.0 experience
• Feign client experience
• SonarQube experience
• Kubernetes experience
• Software and solution architecture experience
• Software monolith transformation experience
• Spring-data-elastic and spring-cloud-config
• GCP pub/sub or Kafka experience is a plus

• This is a temporary job with option to renew the contract
