We are looking for an expert Node.JS Backend developer + architect to join our team full-time. You will work closely with Pulsar founders and some of the best full-stack and machine learning engineers in the world (alumni from the best universities of the world or self-made open source experts) to build new features for our core product (SaaS web application). The job involves interesting design challenges including large-scale data streaming, real-time analytics, and ML data pipelines.

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience building, testing and deploying production APIs and Backend Workers using Node.js
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Proficient in one or more object-oriented programming languages (Typescript, Go, Java, Python)
• Experience building/maintaining large backend codebases while maintaining extensibility
• Systems design experience and prior exposure to the AWS cloud provider
• Excellent communication skills

• Previous experience working with Microservices and/or Serverless applications
• AWS Architect Certificates or architect expertise using AWS cloud services
• Experience integrating 3rd party services and creating public (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) APIs
• Strong history writing unit and integration tests
• Demonstrated experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule
• Seasoned in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/Deployment pipelines
• Exposure to large-scale, distributed systems development (Kafka, Cassandra and/or Spark)
• Experience building software products at an early-stage fast-growing startup
