Cargofive offers a platform that facilitates access to rates for container shipments. At Cargofive, we help freight forwarders or cargo agents automate their procurement and sales processes.

Our tool has been designed specifically for freight forwarders with the goal of helping them digitize and optimize their pricing process. This allows them to reduce time and costs while offering a more tailored experience to their customers.

We automate the processing of rate files sent by shipping lines so that users can access rates from different providers in one place and generate quotes in just a few clicks.

We also have high flexibility to integrate via API with other management systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) to facilitate the exchange of necessary data.

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with a strong background in NodeJS and NestJs to join our team. You will have the opportunity to be part of a small startup that seeks to drive the evolution of a giant and vital industry for the world.

You will join a highly motivated group of developers and be responsible for contributing to the evolution and development of our rate comparison tool as well as building new services that interact with the core of our product.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-quality software solutions
Collaborate with the team to design and implement software architecture that meets the project requirements
Write and maintain unit tests to ensure the quality of the software
Document according to standards. Both with functional and architectural documents
Comply with the deliveries according to the time estimates made
Optimize application performance
Validate overall code quality, ensure code is cross-platform, reusable, and testable, and ensure code review
Actively share knowledge through peer-to-peer consultation, and provide training on specific technologies
Analysis of highly complex incidents

Technical skills:

At least 5 years of experience as a developer
Strong experience developing with NodeJs and NestJs
Demostrable experience creating highly efficient scrapers
Demonstrable experience in developing with REST API architecture.
Experience working with AWS infrastructure
Solid experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
Experience writing unit tests
Experience with agile methodologies (SCRUM)
Demonstrable experience building scalable and high-quality software

Other skills:

Proficient level of spoken and written English
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desired skills

Experience with PHP/Laravel
Familiarity with Docker
Startup experience is a plus
