Position Overview and Responsibilities

As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at Juristat, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, designers, and fellow engineers to build and enhance beautiful, user-friendly interfaces across our product portfolio.
Your responsibilities include writing modular, secure, and well-tested code for both client- and server-side applications. You will participate actively in brainstorming sessions to conceptualize innovative features and collaborate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing. You will also leverage your technical expertise to assist engineering leadership with accurate timeline estimation and roadmap planning.
Your role entails deep engagement in the entire software development lifecycle, promoting best practices in testing and iterative development, fostering teamwork, and helping to maintain a high standard of engineering excellence across the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with at least 5 years of experience developing robust client- and server-side JavaScript applications. You should be proficient in building complex, responsive layouts using HTML and CSS, with expertise in Tailwind CSS preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience is required. You must have a strong background working with React-based frontends as well as Node.js APIs and web services. Experience with TypeScript and runtimes such as Node, Deno, or Bun is essential.
Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform and its ecosystem is a must, as is a solid understanding of performance optimization techniques for JavaScript applications. We expect you to follow rigorous testing methodologies and agile iterative development workflows.
Excellent communication skills, a positive mindset, and empathy are critical to thrive in our collaborative environment. You should be comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a globally distributed team.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

We value additional experience with Node.js web server frameworks such as Hono or Express, as well as familiarity with OpenSearch and PostgreSQL databases.
Having a good eye for crafting enjoyable and useful user experiences on the frontend will be highly beneficial. Experience with data pipelining and serverless distributed architectures like AWS Lambda is desirable.
Knowledge of the React testing ecosystem, including tools such as Vitest and Remix, will be advantageous. Exposure to technologies like Highcharts for data visualization, Auth0 for authentication, Temporal for workflow orchestration, GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code tooling such as Pulumi or AWS CDK would strengthen your profile.

What We Offer

  • Join a fast-growing company committed to improving patent prosecution outcomes through data-driven insights.
  • Work in a fully remote, globally distributed environment that values flexibility and work-life balance.
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled, self-motivated team passionate about innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to mission-driven projects aiming to simplify complex challenges faced by legal professionals nationwide.
  • Participate in an open culture that encourages transparency, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
We foster an atmosphere of trust and confidence, supported by consistent and accurate data infrastructure that minimizes downtime and manual interventions. Our teams benefit from clear, documented metrics that drive informed decision-making.
