Software Engineer in Acelerex

Acelerex is a software maker and independent consultant focused on data-driven, economic processes to lead to cleaner, reliable, and resilient grids to leverage distributed resources in electric power, energy, and transportation networks.

Currently, we are enhancing our software for processing capabilities to run bigger and more complex calculations for the grid, where we’re looking for a dynamic individual with mathematical and software development qualifications and experience.

This position is for Chile.

• You will be responsible for daily software engineering working within a defined software development process.
• You’ll be optimizing, adding features, and writing tests to software that processes computationally intense time-series big data algorithms.
• Your main challenge will be to build efficient and robust programs to run the optimizations.

We seek people who know how to work with a remote team, where written communication and documentation are essential. Doing the job following the work framework/methodology is also key to ensuring quality outcomes and a good understanding with the rest of the team

The ideal candidate should have a mathematical background to understand the algorithms and propose improvements both on the software side and the mathematical side.

Technical Skills

• Experience with Typescript and OOP
• Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL is a plus)
• Experience with software testing (automated and functional)
• Experience with Git

• Engineering software with time series data
• Experience with Big O Notation
• Experience with large codebases and refactoring
• Experience with performance profiling tools
• Experience in memory management
• Experience with multi-threaded software and parallelization
• Experience implementing mathematical algorithms is a plus
• Any experience with integrations of LP, ODE, and Non-linear algebraic solvers is a plus
• Interest in game engine design is a plus
