Job Details:

We are seeking a Solutions Engineer who will work closely with merchants to design and implement solutions that leverage our software ecosystem. Acting as both a technical expert and a trusted partner, you will ensure smooth, high-quality rollouts by directly managing implementations and serving as the bridge between the engineering team and merchants.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help transform the business and unlock growth alongside both the engineering and business teams. You will work within the engineering team whose primary directive is to “unlock the business,” building tools, automation, exposing insights, and streamlining the onboarding procedure. You will own the implementation schedule, ensuring deployments are delivered on time and meet a high standard of quality. Beyond execution, you will provide technical leadership, guiding the team toward best practices and scalable solutions. Additionally, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the implementation process—identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and scale the approach as the company grows.

Your ability to translate business needs into technical outcomes, coupled with a forward-thinking approach to process improvement, will be key to driving merchant success and long-term scalability.

What skills do you need?

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, working directly with customers to implement and optimize technical solutions.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Shopify Theme Development and Shopify Headless implementations.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug web-related issues at an advanced level.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Next.js, React, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate merchant challenges into clear, actionable tasks for the engineering team.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of proactively conveying technical details, managing expectations, and engaging directly with merchants.
  • Ability to manage timelines and priorities, ensuring smooth implementations while balancing multiple projects effectively.

What should you value if you want to align with the culture we are building?

  • Taking full responsibility for the implications of the code you write, proactively seeking help to understand its impact when needed.
  • Being part of a team that takes ownership of the product in both victories and challenges, working together to continuously improve.
  • Recognizing that collaborative problem-solving is key—great ideas can come from anyone, regardless of skill level or department.
  • Communicating in an Early, Frequent, and Focused manner with all relevant team members to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Prioritizing the success of those around you, understanding that helping others grow ultimately contributes to your own growth.
  • Providing fair, timely, and empathetic feedback, ensuring that no feedback comes as a surprise.
  • Valuing incremental progress by shipping small, manageable improvements instead of high-risk, large-scale changes.
  • Taking pride in the quality of your code, writing meaningful tests, and continuously identifying ways to enhance it.
