Responsibilities

As a Direct-Response Video Editor at Tierra Agency, you will be responsible for crafting engaging video content specifically designed for high-conversion direct-response campaigns on platforms like Meta and AppLovin. You will edit a variety of content including user-generated content (UGC) mashups and branded videos, creating multiple versions and hooks per asset to enable effective A/B testing at scale.
Your role involves applying advanced video editing techniques such as J Cuts and L Cuts for smooth audio-visual storytelling, Quick and Jump Cuts for dynamic pacing, Match and Smash Cuts for impactful transitions, and Speed Ramping to add stylistic flair. You will also use Whip Pans, Masking, Object Isolation, and Motion Tracking to create visually compelling effects and callouts.
Attention to detail on visual style and graphical elements is critical: you will maintain consistent padding and margins, text styling, caption syncing and animation, brand element placement, and CTA design per platform norms. You will handle color grading tailored to campaign themes and ensure optimal framing across multiple aspect ratios including 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9.
Deliverables include launch-ready files with appropriate versioning and asset management. Additionally, you will review campaign performance data to inform refinements in pacing, visuals, and narrative flow for ongoing optimization.

Required Skills & Experience

We require at least 3 years of experience editing high-performance direct-response video ads, preferably within ecommerce, legal, or real estate verticals. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with leading editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut Pro.
An understanding of creative analytics is essential — you should be familiar with key digital marketing metrics like CTR (Click Through Rate), CPM (Cost Per Mille), and ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and how editing and design choices directly impact these performance indicators.
Experience editing formats specific to UGC, testimonial videos, and motion graphic explainers is necessary. Familiarity with AI-assisted editing and enhancement tools (e.g., Runway, Descript, ReCut) will be considered a strong advantage.
Strong command of English is important for ensuring impeccable on-screen grammar, caption readability, and overall storytelling clarity.
Soft skills such as creativity, attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, adaptability to feedback, and collaborative mindset are crucial to thrive in this role.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Additional skills that set candidates apart include basic animation and GIF creation capabilities using tools like After Effects or Canva Animate. Experience preparing static ad assets optimized for AppLovin or demand-side platforms (DSPs) with strict file size limits is beneficial.
A flair for copywriting, especially crafting compelling headlines and call-to-action buttons, is a plus that can enhance the overall effectiveness of your video content.
