EVEN empowers music artists to sell their music first and stream second. On EVEN, artists set their price and quantity, and get paid instantly after each sale. Our releases give fans first access to their favorite artist's music, content, tour tickets, merchandise, and more.
We are building the future of artist-first platforms, rethinking how creators engage with fans, own their data, and earn from their work. Joining now means helping shape the early chapters of an ambitious journey to reshape the music industry.

We're looking for a backend engineer who not only writes great code, but also thinks critically about data, scalability, and product. You'll build the systems that power how music is bought, sold, and experienced, and keep them fast and reliable as we grow.
The hard problems:
You'll build the APIs, data models, and integrations that power artist storefronts, payment flows, and content delivery. It's a product with real complexity: high-value transactions, third-party integrations (including blockchain), and a platform that needs to scale without breaking trust.
This isn't a "write endpoints to spec" role. You'll have opinions about architecture, push back on approaches that don't scale, and propose things that weren't in the spec because you saw the opportunity.
We expect you to write maybe 30-40% of your code manually, the rest is directing, reviewing, and iterating with Claude, Cursor, or whatever makes you fastest. If you're still writing every line by hand, this will feel foreign. If you've already made the shift, you know why it matters.

Mindset:
Stack: Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Sidekiq, Next.js, TypeScript (frontend)
Language: Fluent English isn't required, but you should be comfortable reading technical docs in English and communicating with an international team.
