Job functions

Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience. Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Has working knowledge of work area and general proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the job. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments. Implementations and solutions are reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Contacts are primarily within business unit and occasional organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in various IT functions such as hardware and software inventory and rolling out new systems to end users/groups
• Provides day-to-day technical support to local and remote employees for internal desktop systems software and hardware.
• Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstation, and servers in a heterogeneous environment.
• Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.

• Support of mobile computing environment.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in maintenance of network equipment, phones, and teleconference equipment.
• Assists other teams within the Information Technology organization with the support of their projects, hardware, and software
• Assists in the support of the computer room and data center operations arena.

Qualifications and requirements

• Fluent in both written and spoken English
• Fully proficient with the Windows operating systems.
• Applicants must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite. Extensive experience with Excel and SharePoint a plus
• Has working knowledge of the mobile wireless technologies environment and operating systems (iOS and Android).
• Thorough understanding of PC computer hardware and efficient troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal customers
• Ability to communicate highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
• Ability to participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
• Be able to conduct training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications.
• Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to IT support.
• Understanding of data center and data center operations is a bonus

• Basic understanding of networking and UNIX software engineering environments is a bonus

Experience/Education:

B.A., A.A. or A.S. or a minimum of four years of job-related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds of hardware occasionally and/or the ability to move a negligible amount frequently in order to support a variety of office equipment.
