What you will be doing

We are looking for an experienced Linux Distro Consultant to work remotely from anywhere in Latin America, to help build and deploy our Linux system-level distros (specifically Ubuntu or Ubuntu Core). The person in this role will assist us in creating the custom distro that will be used in our IoT holographic digital signage displays.

You will be working in an agile environment with an awesome team on the implementation of world-class software products.

Your main responsibilities would be:

  • Lead in creating the custom Linux Distribution that will power our IoT displays.
  • Have a strong understanding of the makeup of a modern GNU/Linux distribution.
  • Recommend architecture for deploying OTA software and firmware updates to thousands of units.
  • Help with creation of the image and pipeline for our digital signage displays.

Requirements

  • Over 3+ years of expertise in creating custom Linux Distros
  • Experience with Ubuntu distro, Snap and SnapCraft
  • Familiarity with connectivity: Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Experience in Embedded Linux applications
  • Advanced knowledge in C/C++, Embedded C, and other languages
  • Knowledge of communication interfaces such as USB, UART, PCIe
  • Knowledge of OTA updates
  • IoT experience
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab

Nice to have

  • Experience with video applications
  • Experience with hardware deployments
  • Experience with Flutter Desktop or other Desktop application.
