Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, management, and optimization of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) setups to ensure precise tracking of user behavior, conversions, and eCommerce events.
  • Develop and maintain tags, triggers, and variables within GTM, ensuring they are aligned with evolving product and marketing goals.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in front-end code related to tag implementation, including working directly with HTML, JavaScript, and the dataLayer structure.
  • Validate data quality using diagnostic and debugging tools such as Google Tag Assistant and other analytics validation utilities.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams, marketing departments, and software developers to synchronize analytics implementations with strategic business objectives.
  • Stay current with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA to incorporate necessary consent management and ensure compliance in data collection processes.
  • Provide clear and effective communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex analytics concepts into understandable insights.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong expertise in GA4 and Google Tag Manager, with hands-on experience implementing complex tracking solutions for websites and web applications.
A solid understanding of JavaScript programming and HTML markup is essential to effectively troubleshoot and customize tracking code within GTM environments. Expertise in the structure and manipulation of the dataLayer is critical, as this is the backbone of event data collection.
Experience diagnosing and resolving tag-related problems in front-end codebases ensures the reliability and accuracy of analytics data. Candidates should be comfortable working in iterative environments, collaborating across teams and adapting implementations based on evolving product needs.
Excellent communication skills are required to liaise effectively between technical teams and marketing or business stakeholders. Conversational English proficiency is necessary due to close collaboration with U.S.-based teams.
Additionally, a keen awareness of privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA is required to embed consent management mechanisms and support ethical, compliant data collection practices.
Soft skills such as problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while embracing teamwork will contribute to success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, or Segment adds value by broadening your digital measurement expertise.
Knowledge of tag auditing and governance tools can enhance your effectiveness in maintaining scalable and clean tagging implementations.
Familiarity with server-side tagging and advanced consent management solutions is considered a plus, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to analytics architecture and privacy compliance.
Background in A/B testing and optimization platforms, as well as understanding marketing technologies like CRM or CDP integration, will enable more comprehensive analytics execution aligned with digital marketing strategies.
Experience working in agile teams and using project management tools enhances collaboration and delivery efficiency.
