Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical projects, ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.
Perform quantity takeoffs by analyzing project blueprints and using internal estimating systems.
Interpret and analyze bid documents, technical specifications, and drawings to extract necessary details for estimating.
Utilize Microsoft Excel for entering takeoff data, calculating estimates, and producing clear, organized reports.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project managers and engineers, to compile and submit complete and timely bid packages.
Review and verify material pricing and labor rates to develop competitive and realistic pricing strategies.
Maintain effective communication with vendors and subcontractors to obtain and confirm accurate cost information.
Assist in drafting client-facing proposals and documents using Microsoft Word.
Provide occasional support in handling CAD/AutoCAD files to assist with quantity takeoffs and project understanding (a valuable but not mandatory skill).

Candidate Profile and Requirements

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Electrical Cost Estimator eager to contribute to our bid preparation and cost management efforts. The ideal candidate will have a basic to intermediate understanding of commercial electrical projects and the estimating process.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience or knowledge in preparing cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial electrical projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data calculation and reporting purposes.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Strong organizational skills to manage timelines and documentation for bid submission.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word for proposal preparation.

Personal Traits: We value candidates who are analytical, detail-focused, and able to work collaboratively within a team environment. Being proactive in identifying pricing discrepancies and maintaining transparent communication channels is essential.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
