Job functions

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a squad at Platzi. The main objective of the role is to ensure quality and efficiency in developing technical products, as well as the growth and development of the engineering team under their supervision. This role will collaborate closely with other departments, including the Product Manager, Product Designer, and other Managers within the business domain.

Responsibilities:

Lead an engineering team, ensuring the fulfillment of established objectives and goals.
Prioritize the team's work and collaborate with the Product Manager to define the product's technical features.
Ensure that the engineering team meets the required technical levels and engineering best practices.
Supervise and manage the team's backlog.
Collaborate with other Managers within the domain to ensure cohesion and success of the company's products.
Encourage the growth and development of the engineering team members.
Manage the hiring process for the team, ensuring the incorporation of the best talents into the team.

Qualifications and requirements

Bachelor's degree in software engineering or similar experience.
Previous experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role.
Experience in Cloud Computing.
Solid knowledge of software engineering, architecture, and web technologies.
Ability to lead and motivate a high-performing technical team.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with other departments and Managers within the business domain.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to make decisions and solve problems effectively.
