Engineering Manager in Playbypoint

This role sits at the core of our payments platform, enabling seamless transactions for users and clubs worldwide, while maintaining top-tier security, reliability, and performance. You will help shape the payments strategy across gateways, wallets, and devices, contributing to scalable, observable, and robust financial infrastructure as we scale.

We are looking for a proven senior or lead software engineer with hands-on team leadership or management experience. The ideal candidate has strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and a deep understanding of payment systems, including 3D Secure (3DS), digital wallets, and fraud detection mechanisms. Experience with database design and performance optimization is essential. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools is required to maintain high service availability and traceability. We also value candidates with experience working in Agile environments, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proactive problem-solving attitude. Familiarity with background job processors such as Sidekiq is a valuable plus.
