About Tritone Analytics: Tritone Analytics, Inc is a music-technology startup blending creative innovation with deep data science. We’re building a platform that turns complex royalty data and music industry workflows into intuitive, user-friendly tools for artists, managers, labels, and business partners. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development of a real product, with potential for progression into a full-time role.

Project focus: We are seeking a highly motivated Backend Developer / Data Analyst Intern who can support data acquisition, scraping, transformation, and pipeline development using modern AI-powered tooling — especially Claude Code — alongside Python, SQL, and NLP frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Data Scraping & Automation
- Use Claude Code to generate, refine, and debug web-scraping scripts for collecting royalty-related data from public sources, DSPs, rights databases, and industry directories.
- Build automated extraction pipelines to gather structured and unstructured data across multiple platforms.
Data Cleaning & Normalization
- Clean, filter, format, and standardize scraped data using Python, SQL, and NLP techniques.
- Support the creation of unified datasets for ingestion into Tritone’s analytic engine.
Database Development & Maintenance
- Design and update relational databases or data tables to store scraped data efficiently.
- Work with engineering leads to ensure schema structures support API and reporting needs.
AI-Driven Data Processing
- Utilize Claude, Python AI libraries, or NLP models to categorize, enrich, or interpret scraped information.
- Assist in building intelligent extraction workflows for royalty statements, metadata, and catalogs.
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce Excel- or Sheets-based summaries, pivot tables, and lightweight dashboards illustrating collected data trends.
- Provide internal reports that guide business decisions, A/B testing, and product enhancements.
Documentation & Version Control
- Maintain clean documentation and organized code repositories (Git) for all tasks performed.
- Write brief technical notes summarizing workflows, issues, and improvements.

Required Skill Sets

Python (web scraping, data cleaning, requests/BeautifulSoup/Selenium optional but valuable)
SQL (relational databases, queries, joins, indexing basics)
Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (practical usage, not theoretical)
Natural Language Processing (NLP) (basic text parsing, classification, regex, embeddings a plus)
MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data restructuring)
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working independently with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, etc.)

Nice to Have

- Experience with any scraping frameworks (Scrapy, Playwright, Selenium)

- Working familiarity with API data ingestion

- Understanding of JSON, CSV normalization, or data transformation libraries (pandas, numpy)

- Basic understanding of ETL pipelines

- Interest in the music industry, catalog metadata, royalty systems, or entertainment analytics

- Exposure to version control (Git/GitHub)
