Strategic Systems International (SSI) is a company composed of top-tier engineering and data science professionals who enable clients globally to build innovative technology products and solutions. The Senior Cloud Developer role is part of an exciting initiative focused on building and enhancing a security-as-code framework within a large multi-cloud environment. This project leverages modern DevOps tools and practices to automate and improve cloud security automation and enforcement across multiple hyperscale cloud providers including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

This job is original from Get on Board.

Job responsibilities:

  • Design and build a robust DevOps framework utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to automate security enforcement as code across multi-cloud environments.
  • Develop and implement both detective and corrective security controls spanning major cloud platforms: GCP, Azure, AWS, and OCI.
  • Create APIs and microservices to automate the creation of reusable components and improve efficiency.
  • Standardize and automate security-related operational procedures and workflows to maintain consistent security posture.
  • Analyze existing software and infrastructure deployment pipelines to spot security gaps and opportunities, suggesting continuous improvements.
  • Design and implement reusable solutions for IaC security scanning and collaborate closely with internal teams to facilitate broad implementation.
  • Translate comprehensive cloud security controls into programmatic enforcement mechanisms integrated within deployment pipelines.
  • Research available cloud services, identify relevant event patterns, and build event-driven security controls.
  • Author Infrastructure as Code templates for repeatable and consistent deployments across multiple cloud service providers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in the Information Technology domain, with a strong background preferably in Unix and systems administration.
  • At least 7 years of proven software development experience, primarily with Python and working with public cloud platforms.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

We seek a seasoned professional with a strong software engineering background, well-versed in modern cloud architectures and DevOps practices. Candidates should demonstrate deep knowledge of infrastructure and systems management (Linux or Windows, DNS, networking, firewalls) and possess a security-first mindset applicable to cloud environments. Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes and strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and Agile methodologies are essential. The candidate must have the ability to develop RESTful APIs and microservices, as well as proficiency in coding against cloud provider APIs and SDKs, preferably in Python.

Soft skills include being self-organized with the capacity to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, the willingness to continuously learn and adapt technologies, and the ability to train and support team members. Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI) are considered a plus but are not mandatory.

Desired Background / Knowledge / Skills

  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages beyond Python, such as Java, PowerShell, Node.js, and AngularJS.
  • Advanced understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Extensive experience with hyperscale cloud providers including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) along with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • In-depth knowledge of security concepts as they relate specifically to cloud deployments, including translating these into automated controls and governance policies.
  • Comprehensive familiarity with DevOps toolsets including Jenkins, Jira, Rally, and other CI/CD orchestration technologies.
  • Experience working in Agile environments, following SDLC best practices, and contributing to continuous integration and continuous deployment improvements.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary coupled with a commission structure that rewards outstanding contributions.
  • Comprehensive health benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance to support overall well-being.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching to help secure your financial future.
  • Access to both in-house and external professional development programs and training opportunities to foster career growth.
  • A friendly, supportive, and collaborative work environment designed to encourage innovation and teamwork.

At Strategic Systems International, we pride ourselves on cultivating a workspace where new ideas flourish and employees are encouraged to grow professionally while shaping the future of technology solutions. Join our team to contribute to impactful multi-cloud security automation projects and build lasting partnerships in the technology industry.
