Technical Snapshot & Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain multi-account infrastructure in AWS using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, drift detection, and enforcement of security and cost policies.
  • Operate Kubernetes/EKS clusters and large-scale EC2 fleets with features such as autoscaling, right-sizing, and blue/green deployments (surge and rollback).
  • Automate golden AMI pipeline creation using tools like Packer and AWS Systems Manager (SSM).
  • Manage critical Windows Server workloads and IIS in production: hardening, patching, centralized log management, and scaling IIS behind ALB/NLB.
  • Implement end-to-end observability solutions, unifying logs, metrics, and traces across CloudWatch, OpenSearch/ELK, Datadog, FluentBit, and Winlogbeat, creating dashboards and alerts that reduce 5xx errors and accelerate root cause analysis.
  • Conduct infrastructure sweeps and tuning to improve reliability, fix misconfigurations, optimize RDS (failover, replicas, connection management) and FSx, and enforce checks through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and execute performance readiness testing including load and stress tests with tools like k6, Locust, JMeter, and Python scripts to validate scaling and eliminate bottlenecks before peak traffic periods.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
  • Advanced expertise in AWS services including RDS, FSx, CloudWatch, EC2, and ELB.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Kubernetes, strongly preferred expertise with EKS.
  • Practical production experience managing Windows Server and IIS workloads on AWS including patching, scaling, and integrating IIS logs.
  • Expertise in EC2 scaling strategies and golden AMI image workflows.
  • Proven skills deploying and managing observability stacks that provide actionable alerts and diagnostics.
  • Strong background in performance and load testing methodologies.
  • Proficient scripting skills in Python and Bash; PowerShell experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, systems thinking ability, and meticulous attention to detail.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with policy-as-code tools such as Open Policy Agent (OPA) or Sentinel.
  • Knowledge of service mesh or serverless architecture patterns.
  • Expertise in security automation frameworks including CIS benchmarks and AWS Inspector.
  • Familiarity with cost-optimization tooling in cloud environments.
  • Leadership experience managing high-traffic incidents and operational response.
